Kane and Able
A cat named whiskers
wispa
learnt to climb
from a seed
a tree
briney
lime
shadow did speak
im a dog
called sugar mane
sugar mane
had the sense
to give love
a heart giver
whiskers
faced shadow out
before the settlers
came
there was a flight
caught in the dusty parlour
cemented
begs for pardons
jackie remains
like sugar
lucy cane
whiskers became a queen
in the garden
drinking out of yellow cups
if only sugar mane had asked
could you please tell me my name
things might have been
not quite like what they are
steering queens
to the looking glass
that tastes so bitter
just like whiskers
salty taste
fortunes fade
for sugar main
after line
after line
for whispers far
calling Kane
